| Bertha died as the result of a car accident, hit by a Watt & Shand [Lancaster, PA department store] truck. Her daughter, Ida May Rice Reinhart, was pregnant with Donald Reinhart at the time, and was not immediately told of her mother's death, for fear Ida would lose her baby. |
