This website is meant as a starting point for anyone looking for information on people related to... well, me, actually. And my wonderful wife, Deb (the former Debra Tanguy). And some other folks who might be related, but we’re not really sure.
Some photographs of family interest, from various eras.
The first image shows the front and back of a circular mounted photo of Alice Oxley Herlocker and her first son, Elbert, probably taken in 1892 or 1893. Note that the back has the logo for the Herlocker-Lawver Studio in Freeport, IL, owned by Alice's husband, William Bair Herlocker.
#2: Elbert Herlocker with his little brother Harwood. No date on the photo, but based on the apparent age of the boys the year would be about 1902.
#3: J. Fred McGuire and family (daughter Florence, wife Sarah Reed, and son Walter). Hard to guess the year; Walter is almost as big as his mother, but he's still in short pants. Maybe 1905?
#4: The H. O. "Hub" Ryan family. Summer of 1961?. Hub, Mary, Butch, Irene, Max, Kent, Tubby, and Dorothy.
#5: Charles A. Baker (Deb Tanguy Herlocker's great-grandfather) and Family, circa 1918. The people are:
(1st row) Melda Angeline Tanguy (Barr), Charles Baker Tanguy, Geraldine Baker (Ray), Doris Tanguy (Williams), Robert Baker
(seated) Angeline Paxton Baker, Charles A. Baker
(2nd row) Marguerite (Peg) Baker (McKinley), Elizabeth (Biddy) Baker (Campbell), Frances Lucille Tanguy (Christman), Henry Baker, William J. Baker, Jr., Ernest Baker
(3rd row) William J. Baker, Bertha (Mrs. W. J.) Wagner Baker, Nelle (Mrs. Earl J.) Baker, Earl Jay Baker, Hazel Baker Tanguy, Lillie M. Baker (Mrs. Clair D.) Tanguy, Nell Baker (Mrs. Albert) McKnight, Eleanor McKnight (in Nell's arms), Albert McKnight, Charles LeRoy Baker, Marion Baker (Fairman) (in Inez's arms), Inez (Mrs. C. L.) Baker
(back) Clair D. Tanguy, Arthur Paxton Baker (in uniform, Troop E, 12th US Cavalry)
Charles Baker is holding the picture of Thomas Lewis, Jr., his grandson. Irene Baker (his daughter) married Thomas Lewis; Irene died giving birth to Thomas Lewis, Jr. (picture). Her husband was killed in a railroad accident on the Bessemer & Lake Erie RR, Shenango yards. Relatives in California adopted Thomas and little was heard of him after that.
#6: Fred Herlocker (top middle), Elbert Herlocker (right), Florence McGuire Herlocker (bottom front), William Herlocker (left).
#7: A sign for Horlacher Beer, located along Route 30 in New Oxford, PA (the sign, not the beer -- the beer has not been made in many years). I have no idea how old the sign might be, but it was in fairly good shape in November 2000 when this photo was taken.
